Materials Theory Laboratory

Synthesis of (new) oxide materials - especially in crystalline form via a solidification from the melt - and study of their physical and structural properties. The motivation is especially the search for new superconductors and new materials which are simultaneously ferroelectric and (anti)ferromagnetic. For that a new laboratory for the synthesis of (melt-grown) oxides was established in the time period from 2011 to 2013 and extended in 2015 by a so-called SQUID magnetometer.
